Embed live website in wordpress.com site

  Hi, I would like to embed a live website into my wordpress.com site.

  I see I can do it if I use a plugin by converting to a wordpres.org site. However I have no inclination to do this as the site is not for commercial purposes and personal use only.

  Is there anyway I can embed a live website on a wordpress.com site?

  Hi there!

  seabbatical2015.com is already displaying a WordPress.com site. There is no way to embed an entire site in a WordPress.com site because this is generally regarded as a bad idea.

  Can you tell me more about what you’re trying to accomplish and I can help you out?

  Hi,

  I am setting up a live position tracker for my yacht which will show my current position on a map displayed on a webpage hosted by the company providing the tracking system.

  I’d like to embed that page into my site rather than readers having to click on a link to open another window.

  Hmm. Unfortunately that type of embed likely uses a script, which is not allowed here on WordPress.com. Can you give me a link to the map and I can take a look?

  Unfortunately there’s no way to do a direct embed of this type of site. I do see that they’re using Google Maps, which we support embeds from. However, it looks like the boat’s path is generated via script on the actual site, so there’s no way to include it via the Google Maps embed.

  Sorry that this won’t work, but you may be interested in looking at some WordPress.org resources and plugins to see if there’s something there that will allow you to embed this content.
