Embed new poll
-
Okay I did everything you said about creating/embedding my first opinion poll for one of my posts tonight but it just wont’ show up on the blog site. I created an account with Polldaddy, I edited it exactly how I wanted it, but it just isn’t showing up for people to vote on! I’m missing something, obviously! Thanks.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
I see that you created a poll, which is currently saved under Feedback > Polls in your blog’s dashboard. To add that poll to one of your blog posts, you can hover over the poll in your blog’s dashboard there and click on “Embed & Link.” That will give you the code to embed your poll — you can copy the code under “WordPress Shortcode” and paste it into your post.
In the classic post editor, you can also use the “Add Poll” button to add a poll to your post.
We have more details about how polls work here: Polls
Please let me know if I can do anything more to help with that. :)

Thanks. I thought I tried that but I’ll follow your steps exactly and do a little more reading up with the link you supplied. Thanks. Is there a setting so people who take the poll can see the results of the poll or is that an automatic setting?

If you run into trouble embedding the poll in a post, please let me know where you tried to embed it and I can take a look directly at that post to see what’s going on.

You can change that under Feedback > Polls in your site’s dashboard, by clicking on “Edit” under the poll there. In the poll settings, under “Results Display,” you can choose “Show results to voters,” “Only show percentages,” or “Hide all results.”
Please let me know if you have any other questions about that. :)

Okay, this is just too weird. I embedded the poll again under my post “Asking the Right Questions” and nothing shows up. I even tried creating a sham post with no content and just embedded the poll I created but nothing shows up there, too. I don’t get why it occasionally appears and why most times it doesn’t. Is there perhaps some issue with some kind of crossed up links between wordpress and polldaddy? Should I close my polldaddy account and start over? I would like to use lots of polls in my blog but seem to be off to a bad start, unfortunately. Thanks for your help!

I just checked your post “Asking the Right Questions” and I can see your poll without any issues. Here’s what I see there: https://cloudup.com/cysOzHHhcif
It looks like you’re using the Chrome browser. If you use another browser, do you still have trouble seeing the poll? (If you need, you can download the latest versions of popular browsers here: http://browsehappy.com/ )
