Hi Orit,
Which newsletter service is it you are trying to use? For security reasons, we cannot use iframes or certain embed codes here. http://en.support.wordpress.com/code/
If by chance it is MailChimp, you can create a sign up page on MailChimp directly and simply link to it from your WordPress.com site. Here’s their instructions http://kb.mailchimp.com/article/how-to-add-a-mailchimp-signup-form-to-your-wordpress-blog

WordPress.com provides a blog subscription feature that can be used as a newsletter feature or a way to send updates to readers via email. You may also want to see here > http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2010/10/07/wordpress-com-newsletter-subscriptions/

Than you very much justjennifer and timethief !
It is not MailChimp but of course i can make a link to it as well as for MailChimp, but what i was looking for is to embed the form into a page. i understand it’s not possible.
Thanks again for your help !

If they give you HTML without JS then you can use it, barring something weird going on. Please paste it here between Code tags so we can look at it and see what might be going on.

I had this same question except that I am using MailChimp. I added the link to the blogroll, as directed, but the type is so small and there doesn’t seem to be a way to make it larger. No one will ever notice it there. Is there any other way to have an email signup that is more prominent?
Thanks!

@saysthelord
Exactly which blog are you referring to? Please post the URL starting with http:// This one has only a Categories widget in the sidebar and nothing else. http://saysthelord.wordpress.com/ -

I’m not clear on what your issue is as it works for me http://wordpress.us3.list-manage.com/subscribe?u=a57698233a8c82ade75b8b714&id=14cc4ec285

It works, yes, but I would like to make the “newsletter signup” words larger and more noticeable. Even better, I’d like to make it a popup, but my research seems to suggest that the popup is not an option for a wordpress.com site.

That’s not possible either as there is no FTP access and no blogger installed plugin capability on free hosted WordPress.COM blogs.

You’re welcome. On a personal note I categorically refuse to subscribe to any site whereon an in-your-face pop-up to subscribe appears. Nothing is more arrogant and annoying than to be reading a post and be only a couple of sentences in and having one of those loathsome pop-ups prompt me to subscribe when I haven’t read a full post and have not had an opportunity to explore the blog, I click out never to return to blogs that I experience that on.
