embed not working.
-
On my friend’s site she can embed a WordPress post she made on a page and it’ll show the image and info. On mine, all I get is the link written in. An internet search reveals I should have a ‘WordPress post embed’ block to choose. That’s missing too. Please help.

The html-code you can use on a free wordpress.com site is very limited, the embed tag is one of the forbidden html tags, https://wordpress.com/support/code/

Thats not true. I have the same level website as two of my friends. They can copy a post link they made. Paste it into a page and it embeds and comes up straightaway. Why does it not in mine.

Probably your site is running on the wordpress.com platform having a domain name as domainname.wordpress.com, and their sites use the open source wordpress.org; they don’t have a domainname.wordpress.com domain.

Nope. They have the exact same setup as me. I set one of them up myself with the lady who owns it.
Something is wrong with my site. -
Hi there, hope you don’t mind me adding to this topic. Please give us a link to your website so we can make sure you are getting the right support.
Also to make sure, do you mean embedding a post from one WordPress.com on another WordPress.com website? If so, what steps are you taking to do that?

Hello, Jennifer.
Thank you for getting back to me. I’m pleased to say whatever was preventing me seems to have self-resolved. The embed works again now.
