Embed pinterest board / widget / profile still not working
-
Hi
I note the following previous post (September 2013)
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/trouble-embedding-pinterest-board
I note Timethief’s link to ‘how to do it properly’
Using IE it is not possible for these instructions to work. Despite ‘unlinking’ wordpress.com automatically adds back in the url (and I have done http://pinterest.com… rather than with the www in…as per the instructions)
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

@mlaurale
@erinamelia
I see your two usernames above without any blogs linked to them. Know that we need the URLs staring with http:// to help@moosenoose
This article explains how to embed from Pinterest http://en.support.wordpress.com/embed-from-pinterest/ Have you been using it?I assume your answer is yes so I’ll tag this thread for Staff assistance. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

yes, IE and firefox …
even if I used a different browser, what’s the point? If everyone else who uses these two popular browsers then sees the page displayed incorrectly.
unless maybe it is possible to directly embed the html code
do you know the html code?
obviously the pinterest generated code cannot be used as that contains scripts
many thanks

Sorry I should have said that I tried on IE, Chrome and Firefox. However, having just checked my page again, the Pinterest boards are now showing correctly! I spent hours on this yesterday (following the instructions) and it just would not work. I’ve also been trying to validate my blog with Pinterest with no luck. But for some reason, it now views correctly. I have changed my theme recently so maybe that was it…

I’m using IE v11.0.2. I copied the URL from the relevant Pinterest board and pasted this into the required area (making sure it didn’t show as a hyperlink) and then also removed the www part of the address.
My pins are shown here:
http://www.pinterest.com/lu_wilson/home-decor-boudoir/
Do they display ok to you? If so, here is an example of the text I used:
http://pinterest.com/lu_wilson/inspire-me
Hope this helps… -
Do they display ok to you?
Yes this page http://www.pinterest.com/lu_wilson/home-decor-boudoir/ displays properly for me in FF 26.1 and IE 11 and Chrome 32.

the pinteerst.com page works fine. it’s just that it is converted into a clickable url when attempting to add to a wordpress.com page.
we can’t paste a link to pinterest from within wordpress as all it will show is a clickable url … even if a did a screendump of me creating it in wordpress.com it would show the same thing.
a happiness engineer needs to replicate this.
the link I put at the start of the thread shows that the issue was recognised in Sep 2013…I was hoping it would be solved by now or perhaps maybe it was and then some subsequent problem happened.

Oops sorry, added the wrong link above. The first link should be:
http://moosenoose.com/my-pinterest-boards/ -
I see a string of 12 pinterest board embeds here http://moosenoose.com/my-pinterest-boards/
-
they look good, I see them too in ie and firefox (latest versions of both I think)
not sure it helps me though.
moosenoose – which browser did you use to create the post please?

Hi there,
Can you please post a link to a post or page where your Pinterest embed isn’t working properly? The issue that caused problems back in September was fixed, so if you’re having a problem with it now that’s a different issue. I’d be happy to take a look at your blog to see what’s going on.

I’m glad it’s working for you now. :) If you have any trouble with it after this, please feel free to reply here and I can look at it for you.

2 issues
1. It was NOT working so thank you for changing whatever was changed. It works on posts and pages
2. There is still a bugette in that pinterest has SECRET boards (and hence SECRET pins) – links to these don’t work in wordpress. That is kind of obvious I guess (to me) but there is no message given and the secret url is just deleted by wordpress – this might cause confusion for others. -
