embed private Vimeo video in WordPress

I havent signed up for Vimeos pro service yet, but am a multimedia artist looking to design a website and realised I liked the sprawling interchange of WordPress as a potential site for initial experimentation; Ive hunted through contradictory answers so wondered; if I upload a film to Vimeo, (varying sizes), make it private, and embed it in a WordPress page, will it play ok?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

No. The only people that would be able to see the video would be those that could actually sign into the Vimeo account (using your username and password). Private is private.

If you’ve made anything private on websites, you won’t be able to embed it somewhere else. The media has to be public. Check the Vimeo website Help docs.

Thanks, Im new to this and was most likely asking the impossible (to use Vimeo to upload films to while choosing to keep many private, which admittedly dosent join with the spirit of video- sharing, and to be able to stream them on my website/blog elsewhere; thanks both for setting me straight!
