Embed Videos Such As YouTube
-
Hello WordPress World
I have recently been reading a number of historic forum posts regarding embedding videos from You Tube, Vimeo, etc and noticed that some of the community have become a little hot under their collars.
The problem seems to have started with the release of WordPress 3.1 and beyond and I hope this post will help.
Following the WordPress 3.1 release, the WordPress team also launched their own plugin known as Jet Pack. This had previously only been available to WordPress.com users and has only recently been available to the rest of us. I too found the seeming lack of url based video embed frustrating but soon realised that if you install and activate the ‘FREE’ Jet Pack plugin then this resolves the issue as well as giving you a whole host of extra goodies.
I hope this helps and you don’t mind me posting this info in this way.
Kind regards
Richard
