Embed Youtube playlist – nEmbed Youtube playlist – played
-
Can I embed a youtube playlist, and have the first video shown not be the first video in the playlist? I’ve tried embeding the playlist by opening the playlist in youtube, selecting the video start playing in the playlist (for example the 2nd video in the playlist), copying the URL as documented and adding to my WordPress page. It always starts at video #1 in the playlist instead of the video in the v=ID parameter from the URL.

Hi Christer,
Thank you for providing the link to your page with the YouTube playlist. :)
Right now the customization to display a different video than the first-listed video in an embedded playlist is not option.
Raincoaster’s suggestion is probably the best way to go about this right now. Logged in at YouTube, create a playlist using these same videos, with your preferred top video as the #1 video in the playlist. Then embed your playlist to your WordPress.com site instead of the current playlist.
I’ll submit a report to our developers to add this idea to our current YouTube embed customization options, though.

Thanks Alex! I suspected that was the only option and will create new lists on YouTube . Appreciate you reported to the developers believe others want this as an option too in the future.
