Embedded audio no longer playing out

My blog is about 10 years old and I’ve just noticed many embedded audio players no longer respond. We just see a revolving stripe along the player’s width. The mp3 recordings are hosted elsewhere on the web and have worked fine in the past. I’ve tried substituting the audio shortcode format, no luck. Nor with the “Insert from URL” in Add Media, using Classic Editor.

The audio file itself plays perfectly well when entered in the browser – Firefox on an iMac –

The player works perfectly fine on my end, where you able to fix that already or do you still experience this issue on your end?
If you do, what browser do you use? Does it happen when loading the site on a different one?Also, remember that with your plan you can access support directly via https://wordpress.com/help/contact.

Hi fresatomica – Curiously a couple of audio tracks play on Safari, but not on Firefox or Opera which are the two browsers I use most. Aha! It occurred to me the adblockers might be the cause and indeed once those are turned off in Firefox the audio now plays. No change in Opera however.
What bothers me is that there is no longer a way to add audio to a new post through the “Add Media” tab, so I’ll try the “Contact” page yo suggest.
