Embedded Google Calendar

  Hello,

  I am having some issues with embedding a Google calendar onto my site and am hoping that someone will be able give me some input! The site is for a non-profit and the calendar will serve as a calendar of events for our upcoming fundraisers and important meetings.

  I have been following this tutorial: https://en.support.wordpress.com/google-calendar/#embedding-a-google-calendar

  I was able to successfully embed the calendar, however, none of my events are showing up. I’ve double checked that my calendar is public, so I am not sure what the issue is.

  Also, if I click on the link above the iframe code to customize, I do not see a preview of the calendar and the HTML code does not update. In fact, no HTML code is listed at all.

  I read somewhere that the issue is that the directions are for a wordpress.org site and not wordpress.com…is that true? If so, I was wondering why the calendar would embed, then, but not events…?

  Any help would be much appreciated!

  Are there supposed to be more than these?

  Correct, customization within iframes isn’t possible. We use some back-end code to create the Google Calendar embeds, as iframes are generally restricted here on WordPress.com

  Any customization of the calendar is only whatever options are available on Google.

  You are correct, those are the only events I have listed so far.

  I read on another thread that you may not see the events if your web browser is not updated. Could that be why I am not seeing them? I am currently using Internet Explorer…but I am afraid to admit that I’m not even sure how to check which version it is. Do you recommend another browser?

  Browser issues can certainly interfere. In general, we recommend using Firefox or Chrome, but up to date versions of Safari and Internet Explorer are good too. You can get the latest versions of any these here:

  I just downloaded the most recent version of Firefox and that had corrected the issue. I will make a note on the Calendar of Events page about this in case any of our patrons experience the same issue.
