Embedded google map is no being displayed
-
Hi,
I embedded a google map in my site using the custom html block with the embedded code generated by google maps. It worked for 10 days, no issues. Now all I am seeing is the native code.
When I click preview on the custom html dialog it shows the google map. Just not on my site.
Don’t think I am doing anything differently than before.
Any suggestions?

Hi there –
Thanks for writing to us. I have fixed the broken map on your site by embedding the Google map iframe code in to a custom html block.

Hi,
I have been following the instructions as per the wordpress google maps support page but it is not helping. Only seeing the native code on the live page.
When editing the page, and I paste the google code in the custom HTML block then click preview it looks like it working. But when I save and update the website, I only see the html code. Have tried multiple times. And as I said, it did work for around 10 days. It was only this week that is stopped working.
Thanks

Hi there, @birrellathome!
Thanks for reaching out.
I was able to duplicate this issue. There was a recent change made with shortcode blocks (like the Google Maps embed) and Site Editing themes. It is actually expected for shortcodes to not render if added to a template (instead of a page).
For now, I have added this embed to a template part, which is a workaround if you want to add a shortcode to a template using the Site Editor. Here is how I did so: https://d.pr/v/oYY58x
Saying that, it is recommended to add shortcodes to pages and posts (add to a page’s or post’s content) instead of adding it to a template.
I hope that helps! If you need any additional help, please reach out!
