Embedded Images Resizing ; some don’t resize
-
Hi all. Some of my images arent’ resizing on my blog and they’re running off the side.
Running off the side:
And now other posts have them resized to fit the theme I choose:
The above is newer then the first. However some new posts resize perfectly, some don’t. Why? We don’t change or resize our images.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Please give us a direct link to the posts that each of these images are in. We need to see the posts themselves.

Strange. This one wasn’t resizing but now it is:

We can’t see previews – only you can. Also note that the best practice for uploading images to your blog is to optimize and resize them to the exact size you want them to be, prior to using the image uploader. I have found that if you use that approach you will not suffer frustration.

Gimp is a free open source image editor that is powerful compared to PhotoShop. here is the link

The thing is many of them are screenshots, hence clicked on for a bigger view. =/.
And we’re the most popular fansite about this game currently. IT is strange only some posts do that, others don’t.

Why don’t you just resize them yourself when you upload them, and make them clickable to full-size? Easy. Upload them full-size and then edit the stats to make them “Width =450px” or whatever.

I am starting to do that raincoaster.
But the thing is, I never had to do it before. It all shrunk down to the correct size to fit the template. But it is only two or three posts that it hasn’t shrunk down.

I know WordPress staff were tinkering with themes a couple of weeks ago, and I saw something like that again just recently, so maybe they’ve removed and then replaced the feature? Just speculation on my part. Anyway, it’s a good practice to get into, especially as there aren’t many themes with larger central columns anyway.

They are fitting into their posts mostly now again. Nice ^^.
If not I’d just use IrfanView to find the right resize size in height/width

I prepare all my images offline – optimize and resize them first and then I upload them into my blog. Here’s a post that may be helpful http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2009/11/28/ten-free-online-image-compression-and-optimzation-programs/

timethief; thanks, I use IRfanView when I need to resize cause it is lightweight and universal.
Most of my images are screenshots, so they need to be viewed in full size. 500 pixels is a huge change from 1400×900 or 2800×900 resolution. So the resize is a mini thumbnail.
I have set the large settings to the average size we use now. This should be helpful for large images.

I have use IRfanView as well but I’m currently testing some other free programs so I’m using them.
