Where? We can’t help if we cannot see it. How about a link to the blog, or better yet, the exact post?
-
After working fine for a while, the embedded video links from you tube has stop working on my blog at

Can anyone help? -

As I said above, they all work fine for me both on a Mac and on a PC with IE7.
Log out of wordpress, clear your browser cache and cookies, restart your browser and then try again.

Do you have addblockplus or any other addons in firefox? If so, turn them all off, and restart the browser and then try viewing the videos. If it works, then enable the addons one at a time, reloading the blog page in between and seeing if the videos work until you find the addon that is causing the issue.

I checked with Firefox 3.0.6 with Adblocker Plus and I saw them all. Did you clear your cache as suggested above?
-
It’s something then between you and whatever youtube server the video’s are on that is causing the issue. ISP’s, especially very large ones, use proxy servers, although users would not be aware of it, to lessen their bandwidth usage (lowering their costs). If one of the proxy servers they use tried to get the videos, and youtube was temporarily unavailable for whatever reason (their servers were too busy, or they had a temporary glitch or any number of other reasons) then the proxie would not have those videos and just because your browser requested them doesn’t mean that the proxy server will try to get the videos again. There is also the possibility that one of the proxy servers is having an issue and is simply not going out to get new requested files.
Or, it could be something completely different. If you are on Windows, you might also try clearing your DNS cache. http://www.tech-recipes.com/rx/233/clear_windows_dns_cache/
On mac OS X http://www.hongkiat.com/blog/how-to-clear-dns-cache-in-mac-osx-leopard/

I really appreciate your posts.
Since the problem doesn’t happen when I use IE, the above info isn’t valid.
I also note that the other machine on my LAN has the same problem. -
The videos are there and viewable to at least Ellaella and myself, so I don’t think there is a problem with others being able to see things, just your machines. Go through the preferences and make sure that javascript is enabled. That is my last suggestion as I can’t think of anything else.

I too have had the exact same issue with my blog, http://legendaire.wordpress.com , since the weekend.
-
but i cannot even see my youtube links in either firefox or IE 7.
can anybody else see them?
-
stringfellowhawke, the videos on the front page of your blog look fine to me. The problem is most likely with your computer.
Did you upgrade Flash Player or your web browser on the weekend? Install any new software? Virus scanner, ad blocker etc?
-
and, especially with YouTubes, do the Cookie Dance: Log out, clear browser cache and cookies, do a full restart.
