Embedded YouTube clip on a re-blogged post now displaying just as embed code.
-
I recently re-blogged a post which included a YouTube clip. It displayed fine for the first two or three days. Now the image has been lost and a piece of embed code appears in square brackets instead:
Any tips on how to recover the actual YouTube clip?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I’m having the same problem. YouTube embeds don’t seem to work even in the personal comment section of the reblog.

I’m not tech support but have a possible fix. Try going back and re entering the code link for the video. WP has a tendency to strip codes during edits and re-blogs. Don’t preview! Make changes in TEXT View then SAVE changes.

That’s okay. I suspect it’s on the server side, anyway, because it’s the server that handles the parsing of the shortcode, and none of the YouTube embeds on the reblogs I’ve come across seem to be working at the moment. Consequently, we’ll just have to wait for the team to fix it.

Ah, so that’s how “modlook” works…
Excuse my ignorance, but I was a bit confused by the explanation in the FAQ. -

Thanks all for the reports. I was able to reproduce that embedded content doesn’t display in reblogs. I’ve opened a bug report for this, and will let you know when I have more information.

Eurello, thanks for looking into this. I’m guessing it’s not proving easy to fix? Any chance of an update?

Hi Gordon – The team is aware of the issue, but I don’t have a timeline for when it will be fixed. I will keep you updated!

Looking forward to this fix. Thanks!
Meanwhile, hesitating to reblog… because it looks messy and confusing.
