embedding

Hi, I created an elearning course that I want to embed in my blog. When I paste the code in WordPress it doesn’t embed it but makes a hyperlink of it. This used to work!

Here is the code that I use:
    <iframe width=”930″ height=”700″ src=”http://elearning.staging.easygenerator.com/dfa66181-1547-4706-a70d-7961dfa6269c” frameborder=”0″ allowfullscreen></iframe>

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi Kasper,

I’m sorry, but that embed code will not work because we do not allow certain tags on WordPress.com for security reasons. This includes not only iframe like yours, but also JavaScript, Flash, form, and input tags. These restrictions are in place to prevent any disruptions in service due to potentially malicious code.

You can read more about this here:

    Code

I’ve done a bit of searching for a workaround, but it appears that most people embedding elearning modules are running self-hosted sites using the WordPress.org software – not WordPress.com.

Does elearning provide any other options for creating embeds other than iframe?

    Best,

    -Alex G.

    Hi Alex,

Thanks for your answer. It is clear now. I understand that if you have an installed wordpress you can add a plugin, if you are on your cloud you can’t. I’m from easygenerator (www.easygenerator.com). We are an eLearning authoring system. We have a growing number of users that wants to embed their eLearning courses in WordPress. Is their a way we can get regognized by WordPress like for example Youtube? So our embed code will work on all wordpress versions?

We can actualy also build other ways of embedding in our tool as a work around. What kind of embedding would wordpress allow?

    Kind regards,

    Kasper Spiro

    Hi Kasper,

I’ve brought your site up to the team that handles embeds, I’ll let you know what they say regarding submitting your service to be embedded on WordPress.com.

We can actualy also build other ways of embedding in our tool as a work around. What kind of embedding would wordpress allow?

This will be fairly restrictive, but we have a list of HTML tags available for use here:

    Add Code to Your Site

Any other code is likely stripped, including JavaScript or Flash.

    Best,

    Hi Kasper,

Regarding the request to you have your service implemented as an available WordPress.com embed, would you mind entering your information and request here?

    Contact

That contact form gets sent to our development team specifically and they’ll be able to handle this better than me. :)

    Thanks,

    -Alex G.
