embedding a booklist
-
I am trying to imbed a booklist that I made on the site http://www.22books.com/ into a wordpress.com blog post. 22Books offers an embed code for the list, but when I try to add it to my blog post nothing shows up. I have tried in both HTML and Visual modes.
The embed code looks like this <div id=”booksdiv” /><script id=”bscript” src=”http://www.22books.com/share/blogit/1203/1/1″ defer=”defer” ></script>
Can anyone make a suggestion?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

It seems you are trying to use forbidden code. At wordpress.com we can’t use script (among other things), so wordpress strips it out:

Ooh, this is disappointing. Thank you for pointing that out. Takes a little bit of the fun out of it though.

Have you looked at Shelfari?
Shelfari is completely free. Does it work on my blog / web site?
The Shelfari widget works on most blogs and social networks, including Blogger, LiveJournal, MySpace, Typepad, Xanga, Vox, WordPress.com and more. It also works on Facebook. To create a widget enter your site URL in the text box on the right side and press the Get Started button.

I have! And I have a Shelfari account that I am not using, so this is a great suggestion (and one I will probably use if I can get it to post an individual shelf at a time). Is there somewhere that has a list of what sites wordpress allows? or do I have to do it in the other direction (checking if an individual site works with wordpress)?

Also note that although you cannot use the 22 books widget you can still post a 22 books image and link to the site or to the specific list pages there.

See Tess’s comment with the support documentation link above please. It contains what we cannot use. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/embedding-a-booklist?replies=6#post-423752

So, despite what they say initially, Shelfari’s widget only works on wordpress.org.
I cannot find a single way to keep a collection of booklists and post them on my blog.
So much for that.I know this is a free site, and I understand why wordpress would decide to limit script, but this is pretty limiting when you consider other free sites that would allow this.
