I am attempting to embed “Slideshare” (slideshow) presentation to the home page of my WordPress.com site; but, it does not seem to work. I am quite new to WordPress. Thanks.

Hi –
Can you let me know which of these you are trying to do?

Hi there,
Have you followed these instructions?

I did attempt the instructions of the link you provided before; however, it does not work. Once I copy and paste the WordPress url [in the HTML tab], it provides an error message in a big grey box.
I am going to attempt lizkarkosi’s suggestion.

Can you provides us with the exact error message, or even better grab a screenshot?
Here’s how to take a screenshot:

Thanks fstat for the follow up here.
We will need the error message or a screen shot of it to accurately see what the problem is.

I copy and paste the WordPress shortcut code from the slideshow uploaded in SlideShare and then I get this dialog box error message after I save the WordPress page and then select View.
BTW: I do not see no option to attach the screenshot. Here is the error message — “The embedded content is no longer valid. If you are the owner of this content, please re-embed this content from SlideShare. Contact us if you have issues re-embedding your content.”

I have also attempted copying and pasting the ‘Embed’ code from the SlideShare upload. It displays properly where I enter the WordPress page content (with the ability to click the Next and Previous button); however, once I select ‘Update’ and then ‘View’, I get this error message —
“Not Found! The content you are looking for is no longer available.”

“Not Found! The content you are looking for is no longer available.”
What is the URL of the slideshare slideshow?

I was able to figure it out by selecting all the pictures I would like to be included in the slider, click Continue, and then select SlideShow. What I cannot figure out/fix is the size of the photos. There is a big black box with the photo in the middle (which is tiny). How do I have the photos match the size of the box?
Would appreciate your help…

Hi there,
It sounds like you now uploaded an image gallery instead. That’s not the same as embedding a slideshare slideshow.
Once I copy and paste the WordPress url [in the HTML tab], it provides an error message in a big grey box.
The shortcode you get from slideshare should be pasted in the Visual editor, NOT the HTML editor. Paste it on its own line and it should work. It works fine for me.
