Embedding a video clip from Youtube.
-
I’ve been trying to embed a clip of a video from Youtube. I’m able to embed the entire video, however, haven’t been able to figure out how to get it to start from a specific time.
I thought that adding the code “t=4m39s” would get it to start at the 4min 39 second mark, but it doesn’t.
Can anyone help me?

Start an embedded YouTube video at a certain timestamp

Hi, timethief! Thank you for the speedy response.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to be working. I have put the code:
<object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J2A-opxByWw&hl=en_US&start=279"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J2A-opxByWw&hl=en_US&start=279" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>into my html tab, but nothing shows up.
If I try to do the simple version:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J2A-opxByWw#t=4m39sthe video shows up, but it still plays from the beginning.
Any further help would be great appreciated!

Satinr if you didnt find the solution yet I have it for you and maybe it will help somebody else too.
You approach was good but instead of using m and s you just calculate like this 1 min = 60 so if you want to start at min 4 and 39 sec that is 4×60=240 plus the 39 seconds it adds up to the total of 279 and your link should be like
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J2A-opxByWw#t=279 -
@satinr
You use the youtube shortcode http://en.support.wordpress.com/videos/youtube/#embedding-with-a-shortcodeTo make a Youtube video start from a specific point, you write the shortcode this way:
[youtube=URL HERE&start=NUMBER HERE](Number = how many seconds from beginning of video.)

Thank you again for revisiting my question. I put
[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=KSxlpMCt2SY& Start=270]into my post, however the video still starts from the beginning. -
You seem to have left the equal sign = out
[youtube=https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=KSxlpMCt2SY& Start=270]
