Embedding a website into a webpage

So I have been trying to embed an external site into my WordPress website using an and it shows up when I’m editing correctly. However, when I look at the site live (as a viewer would) it’s just a linked URL. Not sure why that’s happening. Any tips?

WordPress.com sites can add a selection of codes. Codes that use script, frame, or embed usually cannot be added to this multisite network for security reasons. If your code isn’t working, try checking the allowed and disallowed tags for code here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/code/ My guess is that the embed is with iframe?
For the ability to add other types of codes and plugins, you’ll want to upgrade to the Business plan to see that option. See pricing listed here: https://wordpress.com/pricing/

@darciemg is correct when she mentions supported code types. Can you double check the code you have pasted in, is supported on WordPress.com and your current plan?
