Embedding a WORDPRESS map?

It seems that each post we make can have map data attached and I have always added this data and plotted it on the small map provided with a pin marker.
Even though Ive gone to this extent I dont actually see any benefit of it or any way to use this information in a useful way.
What I would like to achieve is to embed a map (from within WordPress) of all the pins ive posted on previous posts.
Thus it would provide another way for people to search for posts that are relevant to them or near somewhere that they are interested in.
Does this sound like a good idea and something that is quite feasible to achieve?
Let me know if something already exists!
