Embedding Acast Player
-
I can no longer get my acast player to embed or show up in anyway on my blog. I have contacted Acast and they say the issue is with wordpress not recognising their new player.
Is there a way around this or can someone at wordpress fix the issue so I can go back to promoting my podcast and allowing my visitors to listen to it directly from my blog.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
On what site were you embedding the Acast player?
Acast embeds use
iframecode that is not allowed on WordPress.com, so it has never been possible to embed their player on a WordPress.com site except on our Business Plan.If you’ve been using their player on a stand-alone WordPress site at another hosting provider, then you can ask in the WordPress.org forums instead for help:

P.S., it looks like Acast’s support page at https://learn.acast.com/en/articles/3505409-how-to-embed-the-acast-embed-player-in-wordpress is about two years out of date – it still shows the classic WordPress editor which was removed from the open source WordPress software when version 5.0 was released in 2019.

I was able to post it using the shortcode block (I’ll be honest I’m not really a fan of Blocks either and found the classic editor better) but none of the posting options on acast work with this now. Its frustrating because just when I found the perfect podcast provider, it’s impossible to share it on my blog to help develop my subscriptions and numbers.
There needs to be an Acast block option like there is for mixcloud, soundcloud, youtube etc but that’s probably never gonna happen.

To clarify, you were able to use a shortcode to embed Acast but are not able to do that now in the new editor? If so, do you have an example on your site from a previous successful embed so we can take a closer look?

If I can ask for a bit more info, what has been difficult about blocks so far? We get a lot of good feedback from site owners but they tend to be newer to WordPress and have not used the Classic editor (or found it difficult to work with) but I know that it can be an adjustment if the previous editor was working well for you.
Is there something specific about blocks that has been causing difficulties? If you can tell us more we’re happy to take a closer look.
Also the classic editor is still accessible, but it’s likely not going to be an option forever so it’d be great to get your feedback on blocks so we can share that feedback with our engineers. For now you can use it by following the steps here though: https://wordpress.com/support/classic-editor-guide/
Also in the middle ground is the “Classic Block” which is a tiny version of the classic editor (with the same formatting tools, but in block form) that you can add to any page or post. Some people write their entire page content within the block, others use it mixed in with the new blocks: https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/classic-block/
Thanks for the additional info!
