Embedding Getty Images
-
I am trying to embed an image from Getty Images in my blog using the instructions at https://wordpress.com/support/images/getty-images/. But I haven’t been able to get it to work. When I paste Getty’s ‘Standard code’ into the WordPress text editor, part of the code just appears in my blog as text. When I past Getty’s ‘Legacy code’ in the text editor, it comes closer to working. The image appears when I switch to the visual editor. But on the blog (preview or published), all that appears is the ‘Embed from Getty Images’ link and a big blank space. (I also tried using the Elementor editor, with no better results.) Any ideas? I’m using WordPress 5.5.3 and the Flat theme. Here are the codes I’ve tried:
[getty src="1230470111" width="594" height="396" tld="com"]

Hello there,
Many thanks for reaching out.
Are you able to confirm the URL of the site you’re working on please.
Many thanks in advance.

Thank you, aleone89, for responding. The website is https://edspace.american.edu/taylorandfillmore/taylor-coups-and-union/. But I needed to get it posted this morning, so I just replaced the Getty image with an embed from Twitter that served my purposes. You can see the problem with the Getty attempt in my post above.

Ah, that site isn’t hosted on our servers so it’s a bit trickier to troubleshoot. Since your site would use this feature through Jetpack, can you ensure Jetpack is installed and connected properly, and that you have the shortcodes module enabled?
I tried pasting the code you had above (I pasted as plain text on its own line) and the embed worked on my Jetpack connected site.

Thank you, supernovia! Jetpack was installed, but the shortcodes module was not enabled. Turning that on fixed my problem. :)
