embedding Google calendar
-
ok. I am not a techie and having read some suggestions on embedding a google calendar on a page, I still don’t get it and would appreciate someone spelling it out to me. I know WP doesn’t support this feature.
I am at: http://londontango.wordpress.com and would like to either embed if possible a google calendar. I know how to create a link to it OR make it a link in my sidebar, but would prefer it to be embedded on my page as in this Blogger blog I subscribe to: http://mshedgehog.blogspot.com/2008/07/london-tango-calendar-alpha.html
OR for my tab on my Special Events Calendar to turn into the calendar when someone clicks on the page. Here is the link I embedded on the page: http://www.google.com/calendar/embed?src=arlenetoth%40yahoo.co.uk&ctz=Europe/London
And here is the configuration to embed the calendar: <iframe src=”//www.google.com/calendar/embed?height=600&wkst=1&bgcolor=%23FFFFFF&src=arlenetoth%40yahoo.co.uk&color=%23A32929&ctz=Europe%2FLondon” style=” border-width:0 ” width=”800″ height=”600″ frameborder=”0″ scrolling=”no”></iframe>
I was up til 3 this morning trying to work it out to find out iframes are not supported!
Thanks. -
I found this from another old post on this topic and managed to have my page link directly to the calendar. I would still prefer to have the calendar on my page or A calendar on the page would do that I could update.
OK, so we have the link to the blog http://phhskc.wordpress.com/ (note this is clickable) but where are you trying to link to? It should be:
So, if you go to write>page and want to have, for example, Key Club International, you would write in the title of the page
Does that help?

I too am trying to embed a Google calendar into a WordPress Blog. In viewing the above entries they seem to have been able to accomplish it, but I don’t see anything that says how it was accomplished. Any help?
-
The google calendar code is an iframe, and iframes are not allowed here at wordpress.COM due to security concerns.
There is a way to do it via the RSS widget, but it will not show the entire calendar.

Hi, how come this website: http://phhskc.wordpress.com/ has the google calendar embedded into it?
-
-
@rotaractclubofdavis & maytownvillagesquare: Please paste the exact URL of your blog when asking questions here (or link your nickname to your blog as explained in the Sticky “8 Things to Know“).
That calendar is not embedded: the page just links to it.
-
I know the calendar is not embedded. My question was How do you set up a page that directly links to another URL. Thanks for your help.
-
You put the link in the title box of the page. Note that a) it won’t work unless the name of the link includes a space, and b) it doesn’t work well in some themes.

Does someone know if is there on the web something like google calendar that i can use instead of it?
Thank you for the help! -
What is your WP.com blog, and why do you need to use something other than google calendar? What are you trying to achieve?

@panaghiotisadam
Your reply to maytownvillagesquare: You put the link in the title box of the page.
Well, when I placed the link on the title Page, on preview I saw the whole link instead of the Calendar. What mistake I am doing? -
@vimokshananda: My guess is you put the URL instead of the LINK. Link means this:
<a href="URL_HERE">TITLE_HERE</a>
