  I want to add a ‘Follow’ button to my blog, and I have figured out how to get the HTML code. But I don’t know where to go to add it in. Any help gratefully received!

  First: we can only help with sites running on the wordpress.com platform!
  The HTML code you can put in a free wordpress.com website is very strict limited, https://wordpress.com/support/code/.
  But for a free wordpress.com website, you have the Follow Blog Widget, https://wordpress.com/support/widgets/follow-blog-widget/

  To add a Follow button for the WordPress.com Reader on that site, you’ll need to follow the steps here:

  External Follow Button

  You’ll add the resulting code to your site using a HTML widget.
