Embedding Image in Reply
-
Hi! I am trying to embed an image in a reply in a Private site. I know it can be done because someone has already replied to one of my posts with an embedded image. I have tried posting a reply, selecting edit, then hitting the img button. I tried adding the URL for the image which I had uploaded to my Media but that did not work. I have already been advised that this is because my site is private and therefore the media is not shareable. I have also tried using the URL for a Dropbox share link. That did not work either (although it appears that is how the other person did it). I also tried using this code, with the URL in the space: src=’ ‘; alt=’image’ />. None of this is working and I am going a little mad. I would very much appreciate any assistance. Thank you!

Sure thing. We can take a look. Can you provide the drop box link that you used, or the image link from your media library. What is the title of the post where you are trying to reply?
Even though the site is private, staff are able to see it so we can provide help in scenarios like this that come up.

Thank you! The title of the post I am trying to reply to is “Portfolio Review”. I am trying to insert another snap shot of a picture. Here is a link to the Media file:
src=’https://periscopeteam.files.wordpress.com/2020/01/screen-shot-2020-01-08-at-6.10.58-pm.png‘; alt=’image’ />And this is the link to the Dropbox file:
src='https://www.dropbox.com/s/0n385q51r54txlr/Current%20vs%20Proposed%20Range%20%26%20Pricing.png?dl=0'; alt=’image’ />I also tried using the code that comes up when you edit the reply and select img with both of these images link.

Hi Lizkarkoski. I’ve just realised I posted as my boss, Paul Byron, the first time and as myself, Elisha Holcroft, the second time. Thought I better just clarify they are both me. I am managing both accounts.

Hi there,
You can definitely embed images in comment replies by using the following code:
<a href="image URL here" target="_blank"><img src="image URL here"/></a>Just replace
image URL herewith the URL of the image you want to use. Thanks,

Hi guys. I’ve worked it out. I was totally overthinking it. All I needed to do was copy the Dropbox Link and paste it straight into the reply. Once I pressed post the image appeared.
Thank you for taking the time to assist me.
