Embedding insta pics but how to remove white space

  • Unknown's avatar

I am using the Pictorico theme and whenever I embed instagram pictures into my posts (not the widget) and open my blog on my phone through Safari (not through the wordpress app), then I get a ton of blank white spaces that come after each of the instagram pictures. It looks fine on my desktop by the way.

My blog is stellagram.wordpress.com if anybody can help me with this issue that would be great. Don’t know if it’s a standard IG thing but seems pretty ridiculous to have that much white space after each picture in a post.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I agree and it’s not just your theme on your phone. I get the same on my site in Chrome on my Android phone.

I’ve included a screenshot for Staff review. https://cldup.com/L6-XIydFOB.png

    Hi there,

I see what you mean about that extra white space under your Instagram pictures. (Thanks for the screenshot, Jen!) It looks like that’s part of how the Instagram embed is created, and I reported it to our developers so they can take a closer look at that. I’ll let you know when I get an update from them about it.

Please let me know if I can do anything more to help in the meantime!

    Hi there,

Our team looked into this, and the issue is related to how Instagram generates those embeds. Instagram is currently working on some improvements to embeds on their end, and once they’re launched those changes should fix this issue on your blog. We don’t know the timeline for that, but I wanted to let you know that it’s on everyone’s radar. :)

Hi there! Instagram launched some changes for how embedded photos work — it looks like that cleared up the extra white space that was showing up under your Instagram photos. Are either of you still having trouble with this?

Checking now… Looking good at my end. The text is snuggled right up to the bottom of the embed. (screenshot)

Excellent, thanks for confirming that! :)
