Embedding instagram with a follow button

    I’ve tried embedding instagram photo and it worked perfectly well so far except it does not include a follow button wrapped within the photo. It comes only with the description and the number of likes and comments. Is there a way to wrap a follow button next to the user on the embedded photo itself? Please advice.

    Referring to an instagram embed in a post or page and not the instagram widget, the follow button should appear in the upper right corner of the instagram embed itself.

    If you don’t see that button, please give us a direct link to an instagram embed on your site. Also, please let us know if you are using the oembed method or a shortcode to embed the image from instagram.

    If you look at the first screenshot on the left from your older post, you’ll see a +follow button in the upper right corner of the instagram embed.

    As far as the second screenshot, I can’t seem to get the instagram photo to load for me on your site, although I did find the link in the source code and saw it on instagram directly.

    I’m using Chrome latest and I’ll try in a different browser later when I have more time.

    It would also be helpful if you could post screenshots of what you see and what browser and version you are using.

    Also, if you don’t see the +follow button on your embedded instagram image, please check that you’ve allowed javascript in your browser.

    The blank embed is a separate issue, but having checked now again, the instagram photo in your recent post does not load for me in FF latest either.

    Are you embedding the photo following these instructions? https://en.support.wordpress.com/instagram/instagram-images/ If so, are you using the oembed method (photo link on its own line without any extra code next to it) or using the shortcode. Perversely, the instagram embed I created with your image shows up in my test site.

    However, as I now see that instagram images are missing from the Support doc as well, I’ve tagged this thread for Staff attention.

    I checked your site and tested the Instagram embedded, using the link to your photo: https://www.instagram.com/p/BAvsTzZBqWE. It loaded in both Chrome and Firefox latest versions.

    I tried to add the photo link to your post and it’s loading the embedded too, did you add the photo following the instructions on the link @justjennifer posted?

    Dear Justjennifer and Carinapilar,
    I am now using the instructions https://en.support.wordpress.com/instagram/instagram-images/ . It worked perfectly with the shortcode. Before, I clicked on the panel (3 dots on lower right) for embed code and I embed using the very long embedded code given when clicking “copy embed code”. I am unsure why the follow button is missing with this method. But the shortcode method worked well, so I’m sticking to this method now. 
