Embedding NYT video.

  Have been embedding videos from a number of sites easily, including NYT. This one isn’t working, in fact, it seems WP is changing the code? When I preview? Just get the link, not the video in my post. This is the code from NYT:

  http://graphics8.nytimes.com/bcvideo/1.0/iframe/embed.html?videoId=100000003258587&playerType=embed

  Hey Sandra,

  WordPress.com will strip iFrame code from your site. It’s one type of code we don’t allow to be embedded. Could you please send me a link to a page/post on your site where the NYT video is embedded correctly? I would like to see how that code differs from the one you’ll linked below.

  Well, going back through all (many) these blogs, not a few videos, but it does look as if the NYT ones were always links back to their site. Have done so many, assumed there’s were among those that worked. And no way to open on YouTube, which also works.

  So, even though they give you an embed code, are you saying there’s no way I can embed?

  Hi there!

  Well, going back through all (many) these blogs, not a few videos, but it does look as if the NYT ones were always links back to their site.

  Since the issue is consistent, this does make more sense. You cannot use NYT’s embed code on a WordPress.com site. The link will work, but there won’t be a video player on your site.

  And no way to open on YouTube, which also works.

  If the video exists on YouTube, you can embed YouTube video on a WordPress.com site. Here are the instructions to do this:

  http://en.support.wordpress.com/videos/youtube/

  So, even though they give you an embed code, are you saying there’s no way I can embed?

  The following link contains the video services from which we allow embeds:
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/videos/

  You cannot embed directly from the NYT, but if the NYT videos live anywhere on the accepted video sites, you can embed them on your WordPress.com site.
