Embedding pdf
-
We have purchased an A3 sized plan of our village to put on my website, together with the necessary licence etc. I would like a link to it on the front page, probably in a text widget.
I assume there is no way to embed it in a viewer, only possible with a plug-in? This would enable people to move around the map and zoom in and out.
I am having difficulty putting it on a page. It is a big, (approx 5mb), PDF file. Obviously, I want to keep as much detail on the map as possible. With my iPad it is easy to move around the map and enlarge it. I am not sure if it would be so easy with a pc? Could anybody help me please to find the best way to handle this? I would really appreciate you taking me through it slowly because I am still a relative novice.
Another problem is that some text I have put on the pdf is displayed on my computer but not on my iPad.
Thank you in anticipation.

Thank you very much for your time thesacredpath. I have done this but the resulting document lost quite a lot of definition and I am not too keen on the advert for Scribd. We are trying to avoid advertising. Is there another way?

Ok, I have managed to use Google to embed the map (https://en.support.wordpress.com/google-docs/) but now I would like it to take up the full page width, if possible. (Please see grosmont.wales/About Grosmont/ Local Information – where I have placed a temporary link to the map.)
Also I would prefer it to continue to scroll down if possible, rather than come to a stop.
Thanks

Gaynor, and saw a link at the bottom to a Plan of the Village page. The following custom CSS will work on that page.
.page-id-4730 .entry-content iframe { height: 1250px !important; } -
