Embedding Picasa Slideshows?
-
Hi there
I want to be able to embed a Picasa slideshow of recent photos, but I can’t get it to work. I’ve tried copying and pasting the Picasa link into both the “visual” and the “code” areas but neither will work.
Is it even possible to embed a Picasa slideshow?
What do I need to do to embed one?
I don’t have the updated version of WordPress yet, could that be the problem?
This has been driving me insane! Any help would be very much appreciated :-)
Thanks

Yes, we can embed Picasa slideshows via Vod:Pod. Install the VodPod button and register as a user at their site. Then you can embed in posts, pages and the Vod:Pod widget.
-
PS: it is the only way. You will not be able to embed Picasa slideshows the ordinary way.
-
If you do not want the VodPod button installed only 3 slideshow hosts are allowed for ordinary embed:
http://www.slide.com/
http://www.slideshare.net/

Thanks for this info.
For some reason though, the Vodpod button doesn’t work when I click on it. It says “there was a problem opening the vodpod window (object required).
I’ve tried another way and uploaded my slideshow onto Vodpod, got the embed code, but when I post that into the “code” section of my post, it doesn’t show on the blog. I’m confused!

Also: you can add Vod:Pod to you list of trusted sites via the internet settings in your pc. There is a remote possibility that it could be a firewall issue or that other anti-virus settings is in your way but that is really not very likely.
Picasa embeds just fine on WordPress.com blogs if you use Vod:Pod.

Thanks for all your help, universalgeni!
I’ve got it now so it can post the slideshow on my blog, but only if it creates a new post. I’m not sure yet how to get it to post the slideshow into an existing page/post but if I play around a bit more I might figure that out!

Thanks so much, I never would have figured this out on my own! Now I can move the slideshows into the posts/pages I want them to be in.

Bubbleshare works just fine on WordPress.com. A recent example for you to look at is here:

@ disembedded: Thanks.
Something else: your header looks funny in an IE browser. I just updated to the latest version on Microsoft’s homepage but I can’t remember the numbers – version something…
