Embedding slide.com in text widget

Hi,
I would like to embed a slide.com show in a text widget. I can embed it in a post fine but when I try to do it in a text widget, all that shows up is the embed code. I tried pasting that code into a draft post and converting it to html just in case but that did not work either. I tried using code for other sites besides wordpress.com and was able to get the slide.com badges to show up but still on slide show.
Is it possible to embed into a text widget and have the slides just rotate within that box? I saw on another support question where someone said you could but I sure can’t figure it out. Thanks in advance!

The media short codes do not work in the sidebars. The only media widget that works in the sidebar is the Vodpod widget as far as I know. I suppose you could upload it to your Vodpod account and put the widget in your sidebar.
