embedding soundcloud with self-made audio

    sound cloud audio.
    Site: http://www.ouicestca.com
I would like to embed audio files that I have recorded and stored on my computer into my language learning blog. When I do it now, using “Add Media”, users can click on the link but have to manually open it in a different tab or window, leaving my blog. I would like them to be able to simply click on an icon or link and hear the audio while continuing to read the blog, as those audios are pronunciation examples for the most part.

Could I do this via sound cloud, and if so, how can I embed a sound cloud from a file already on my computer?
    Thank you!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi Marie!

You can definitely embed a SoundCloud audio player into your site. To do so, just follow the instructions here:

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/audio/soundcloud-audio-player/

You’ll need to upload the files to SoundCloud first. Then, you can embed them into your blog following the steps listed above.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions!

Thank you Jeremey, but this doesn’t answer my question. I saw the page in question. But I am looking to embed audio files I have in my computer, not music. My website is a language learning tool. I would like for the users to click on something to hear how a word is pronounced, and immediately hear the pronunciation without being taken to a different tab or page, that way they could still be able to read the word as they hear it.

The link you provide proposes to embed music from the web on a Worpress site. It explains how you can “share” the music from the website. But it doesn’t say how one could embed a sound directly using a sound media file that is stored inside the computer. Thank you in advance.

    Hi Marie,

I apologize for the misunderstanding. SoundCloud is actually a music-sharing platform so I thought based on the title of your forum thread you were looking to use SoundCloud files.

You can certainly upload audio files straight from your computer into your blog following the instructions here:

    Working With Audio

This way, you could have a grouping of text followed by an audio player wrapped in the block of text. Does that make sense?
