Embedding TeacherTube video

    Hi,

I am trying to embed a TeacherTube video, http://www.teachertube.com/view_video.php?viewkey=4a552c17fcbb1442d789 in my WordPress.com blog. Teachertube suggest that I can embed these videos in the blog, (I have previoulsy successfully embedded YouTube videos). Any ideas?

Afraid teachertube is talking about WordPress blogs. There’s a difference between wordpress and wordpress.com. 99% of the time when you see the words “wordpress”, they’re talking about the wordpress software from http://wordpress.org hosted within your own paid space. If folks are talking about wordpress.com, they’ll say so specifically. Please review the sticky labeled Please Read Me First if you want to see about the differences.

Embeding is actually removed from all user input as it’s a security risk. To get yourtube videos into a post, you use a filter that wordpress recognizes. One would have to be installed for teachertube and this has not been done. Best bet would be to submit a feedback and make this suggestion along with the reason(s) why you would like to see it added in. (And, yes, a filter does exist. Heck i wrote it. :)

    Hi drmike,

I thought that this might indeed be the situation. I shall do a submit feedback as it would be really advantageous to have a filter for TeacherTube. Many educational systems block YouTube but allow the more educationally focussed and closeley monitored TeacherTube. Thanks for the quick feedback.

    Not a problem. :)

I, too, would like to see us get the capability to embed TeacherTube videos. We cannot see YouTube in our district, but TeacherTube is allowed. Thanks!

You have to send the request to Support. People on the forum can’t do anything about the back-end software. We are regular users like everyone else and just answer questions.
