Embedding video from link–how to get the screen, not just link
-
That says it all really. I embedded a video using the instructions from the video’s site, but when it went onto my page there is just the link to click on, then the video screen appears. Is there a way to have the screen appear on the page without having to click the link first? It is at: http://speaking4baby.wordpress.com/2009/08/21/reducing-infant-mortality-a-free-film/
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Here is the code I used from vimeo:
<object width=”400″ height=”300″><param name=”allowfullscreen” value=”true” /><param name=”allowscriptaccess” value=”always” /><param name=”movie” value=”http://vimeo.com/moogaloop.swf?clip_id=6182741&server=vimeo.com&show_title=1&show_byline=1&show_portrait=0&color=&fullscreen=1″ /><embed src=”http://vimeo.com/moogaloop.swf?clip_id=6182741&server=vimeo.com&show_title=1&show_byline=1&show_portrait=0&color=&fullscreen=1″ type=”application/x-shockwave-flash” allowfullscreen=”true” allowscriptaccess=”always” width=”400″ height=”300″></embed></object><p>Reducing Infant Mortality from Debby Takikawa on Vimeo.</p>
I highlighted the name of the film and entered the code into the box provided when I clicked on Link.

That code is flash.
You cannot directly embed flash, it isn’t allowed due to security concerns.
Read the link I provided regarding placing vimeo videos in your blog.

I read the link, I did as it instructed, I tried about 8 different combinations to copy the examples given, and now I have no link at all to the video! What on earth am I doing wrong? I tried the “vimeo 6182741” format and the http format, but neither worked. I am doing something wrong with entering the link, or editing the link, but I can’t figure out where!

Open the post in the editor. Switch to the HTML tab and paste the following where you want the video.
[vimeo=6182741] -
Oh, got it. All that other stuff has to go away! Just the brackets and the above info. Thank you!

this is my site: http://evfabrics.wordpress.com/
and I want to do the same as above, except my flash file is at Photobucket.this: [photobucket=79efc06b.pbw] did nothing.
the code is actually:
<div style=”width:480px; text-align: center;”><embed type=”application/x-shockwave-flash” wmode=”transparent” src=”http://w352.photobucket.com/pbwidget.swf?pbwurl=http://w352.photobucket.com/albums/r346/evfabrics/Events/79efc06b.pbw” height=”360″ width=”480″><img src=”http://pic.photobucket.com/slideshows/btn.gif” style=”float:left;border-width: 0;” ><img src=”http://pic.photobucket.com/slideshows/btn_viewallimages.gif” style=”float:left;border-width: 0;” ></div>though, I clean it up a bit when I used it here:

As far as I know (I have searched the support pages) photobucket video is not supported at wordpress.COM.
http://support.wordpress.com/?s=video+shortcode
You can use the vodpod button for wordpress to embed them though.

dang!! it’s not even a real video… it’s just a slideshow in Flash and, I use them often. Would hate to lose access… I have a lot of images (turned into slideshows) in PhotoBucket.

Hello!
I wanted to post this video
http://www.nfb.ca/film/every_child/
and it looks like I can’t.
Is there a way to do it? I know that the “embed” code doesn’t work
No other way?
It’s a pity though!
Thanks in advance, vimeoLama, you are my brand new Superman! -
You can probably do it using the Vodpod button from http://vodpod.com , but I’ll tell you the NFB is also on YouTube and those are easy to put directly in the blog using the shortcode.

Thanks a lot! I did it via Youtube finnaly. The quality is not the best but ok, we did it.
