Embedding Video Problem
-
When I use the html tab on a page or a blog post to embed the object code for connecting to a video chat at TokBox, then click on the Visual tab, the object displays fine, but when I click on Save Draft or Publish, the code is stripped to a link to the TokBox site and the embedded object disappears. I have seen this happen before on another site with a YouTube video that was resolvable with ‘old’ code that YouTube also provided. Unfortunately, I can not find any other embed code at TokBox or figure out how to implement the Javascript option they offer since it requires entering code into the <head> for the page.
Any suggestiions?

BTW, here’s the embed code:
<object type=”application/x-shockwave-flash” data=”http://api.tokbox.com/vc/ooQXFT7XWM7JJG9S/10″ width=”425″ height=”368″><param name=”movie” value=”http://api.tokbox.com/vc/ooQXFT7XWM7JJG9S/10″ /><param name=”allowFullScreen” value=”true” /><param name=”allowScriptAccess” value=”always” /><param name=”flashvars” value=”&textChat=false&guestList=false” /></object>

I suggest you read the following support doc prepared by a veteran volunteer.
If you follow the instructions carefully, you might be able to convert the Object and Param tags (which are indeed not allowed on WP.com) into Gigya tags (which are allowed):

Thanks for your feedback. I was trying to set up a video chat … does VodPod support that?

Thanks for that info, airodyssey. That got it working.
If that is still a violation of WP policy, someone let me know. I’m primarily doing it for testing purposes anyhow for implementing on another site, but the prospect of having a video chat option here is good also.
Thanks all.
