embedding with code

I am having two problems. First one is that I want to embed in my blog a video from the Outside magazine website. I have the embed code but do not seem to be able to use it. How do I embed media when I have the code but it is not on one of your pre-chosen sites? I have tried to paste the code in the HTML page but when I try to save it I get an error message telling me to refresh.
Second problem is that I cannot seem to preview posts. I have changed my cookies section to allow for third party cookies for this page but I still cannot preview.

Can you link me to the video that you’re trying to embed (just link me to the post/page on the Outside magazine site)? I suspect they use some code that we block at WordPress.com to embed the video. If you could pass along a link, I’ll be able to say for sure!

It should open in a new tab. If that doesn’t work, can you try another browser (Firefox would be best)? That will help us to narrow down what might be causing the issue!

When I click on the link to my wp-admin I see the whole page and when I click on preview I see the posts page and when I click on preview I can preview the page – what I have been having trouble with is the preview tab at the bottom of the new post page opposite the publish tab.

Yep! I was just providing an indicator of where to click on the page. It was just meant as an example.

Understood! I’m not quite sure why this is working in the classic editor, but not in the new one. Can you try clearing your cache as a test? Instructions can be found here:

Cleared all the cache related to the site and WordPress. Still doesn’t work – I get a 404 message.

Just to clarify, when you click on Preview from the new editor, you’re taken to another tab in your browser with a 404. Is that correct? However, in the same browser, when you click Preview from wp-admin, the preview works.
For example, can you let me know what happens when you click “Preview” from here?

Thanks for confirming! That’s odd – when I open the preview, it starts to go to a 404 but then corrects itself and finds the right post. Could you try logging and logging back in? Then, can you complete the following?
1. Start a new post at wordpress.com/post
2. Save a draft of the post
3. After you’ve saved the draft, try opening up a preview
Let me know if that works!
