Hi there,
Do you want to embed the WordPress site on your existing site, or do you just want it on a subdomain of your domain?
If you want to embed it, you need to contact support for whatever system your current site is build on. Or if it’s something that was custom coded for you, you’ll need to ask the developer/agency who built the site for you how you can embed the blog feed from a WordPress.com site onto that existing site.
If you just want the WordPress.com site to share the domain, you can do that by mapping it to a subdomain. In other words, if your site is at example.com, you can map the WordPress.com site to blog.example.com. This will require a paid plan for the WordPress.com site:

I am hoping to be able to use wordpress on a subdirectory, like myexistingdomain.com/blog.
The reason is that I will need to be able to manage and update this blog regularly, and my site at the moment is custom coded with no CMS.
What would you suggest?

Hi there,
If you want to host that blog here on WordPress.com, then you can only map it to a subdomain of your main site (e.g. blog.yourexistingdomain.com). We don’t allow subdirectory mapping.
If you want to map that blog to your site’s subdirectory, then you need to use the open-source WordPress software and install it on your server or the hosting provider of your choice.
