Embedding Yahoo! videos

  I’ve tried a few of the YouTube and Google video tricks, but I’ve been unable to figure out how to embed a Yahoo! video?

  Here is the embed code:

  Anyone have any ideas how to do this?

  You cannot do it, period. If you’d checked some of the old threads tagged “video” you’d quickly learn that the only ones allowed here are YouTube, Google, and Grouper.

  yes i can’t seem to make it work.. this is ridiculous

  What’s ridiculous? Of course you can’t make “it” work. The FAQs makes it clear that currently we are allowed the linking to files from Google Video, Youtube, DailyMotion, Grouper, Odeo, and SplashCast. The wp.com software will strip out any other shockwave flash embeds like Yahoo videos to preserve security. http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/10/23/can-i-add-flash-video-embed-other-media/
  If you want this feature offered here at wordpress.com then send the procedure is to send staff a feedback telling them your reasons for asking.

  Perhaps someone can help me understand what the security reasons are?

  What is insecure about Yahoo videos vs all the others?

  Seems like a rather artificial limitation to me or is there some business relationship between WordPress and Google that isn’t there between WordPress and Yahoo?
