    Hey! I wanted to know is it okay to embed another person’s post (not necessarily a post on WordPress) for reference purposes or will there be issues regarding copyrights?

    For instance I have a book review blog. If I attach an instagram link or youtube link of a book trailer. Or if I attach the link of an artist’s blog who makes character sketches. These are for reference of the readers so they get more idea of what the book is about.

    Hi there,

    That sounds fine. In general, I would make sure that the purpose of the post embed falls under one of these four factors on our support page that justify fair use:

    If you’re setting up the embed for the sake of a book review, that should fall under criticism which is covered by Fair Use. However, if you are very concerned about copyright, I would seek legal counsel to be safe.
