embeding videos from archive.org

    Hi there,

I have some videos at archive.org (example: http://www.archive.org/details/ensaio_08_le_soleil_apres_de_moi) and I’d like to embed them in my wordpress (hosted) blog – szaszak.wordpress.com/.

Trying to embed the video by copying and pasting the link given by archive.org achieves no result – it gives me a blank page after pasting it in the html editor.

I’ve searched the internet for it and haven’t seem any post around that could be of help. Nor at the wordpress’ forums…

    Any idea?

ps.: I know that for vimeo something like [vimeo 438762] works, so maybe there is something similar for archive.org?

    thanks for the help,
    flavio

There is nothing similar for Archive.org. If you read the FAQ and Support pages, you’ll see that’s not a supported format. What you CAN do is use the Vodpod widget or button to put it in your sidebar or in a blog post; get those from Vodpod.com and they work very, very well.

Aye, tried Vodpod some times. I actually had tried before posting the question… Still no success. The sidebar button seems to work fine except for the publishing part – I can see the preview, whether directly clicking on the sidebar button, whether by manually informing the embed code there, and it actually tells me everything’s gone fine and publishing’s been done… but at the page, there’s still nothing… =(

Do any of you have any page of example that has used an archive.org video from which I could take a look at the published code, see if there’s any difference or something?

In any case, I’ll also send the vodpod guys a mail asking about it.

    thanks again,
    flavio

An update: this is an example of how it appears in my blog:

    TESTE

You see, Vodpod creates a post at this address but won’t show anything else…
