Emoji Question
-
Hi guys,
I noticed that when I use standard emoticons, they fall inline with lines and paragraphs of text in my blog posts. But when I copy an emoji into a post, it always breaks out into a new paragraph, on its own line and aligned far left. Is there a CSS code I can add to fix this so emojis fall inline with text like standard emoticons do?
Thanks in advance

I don’t help with CSS editing but don’t despair as other Volunteers do and Staff does follow-up and provide support too.
Just to be sure you have done this go to Dashboard > Settings > Writing Settings to enable the emoticons there

Hi @benconners, can you point me to a page or post where this happened and I’ll see if I can figure out what is going on for you? It’s ok if it is a draft. Staff see those.

Hi, thanks! Towards the bottom of this post:
It’s not a huge deal, I’m just being nitpicky. Thanks for trying!

Hi there, the emoji code you are using has a class of “emoji” so we need to change the emoji CSS rule you have in your custom CSS a bit. Change this
img.wp-emoji { display: inline; }into this
img.emoji { display: inline !important; }The !important keyword has to be used to force the browsers to apply this rule.
