Emojis/Smilies – Country flags for everyone?
-
Hello,
I’m an emoji fan and have been doing great use the WP smilies and Twemojis.
If by any chance the designers are working on a new set of smilies/emojis, I’d like to suggest adding country flags, all of them! That, or add support to use the set from EmojiOne.
I understand that WP has ambitions to globalize, this would be a small step towards it. ;)

If you want country flags then you can use plain flagcounter HTML version (non-JavaScript) code and place the code in a text widget in your sidebar. http://flagcounter.com/index.html
http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/text-widget/I am not a fan of using any smilies/emojis unless one has a microblogging site whereon they focus on posting selfies, reblogs and other tat ( a British colloquial term for cheap and tasteless trinkets). To me they make a site look every childish and amateurish. That is why when one has a professional or business site and wants their content to be taken seriously and backlinked to, I recommend not enabling the smilies found on this page → Dashboard → Settings → Writing let alone asking for more of this tat.
That said, good luck with your request.

@timethief Thanks for your insightful comment and the tips.
Emojis integrate more seamlessly (than HTML) in text, hence, the point of this request.I know that not everyone is a fan of smilies but in some parts of the world, they have become an almost integral part of how people communicate. Heck, some people even pay to use certain sets of stickers/emojis.
At any rate, thanks for the good wish despite not being a partisan of smilies.

@timethief Haha. You know, out of courtesy, I actually refrained from ending my previous message with a smiley face, so much for that! Haha!
