Emoticons not showing up consistently (Theme: Mystique)

    When I type a smiley face :-), and I preview or review, the emoticon shows up sometimes, and other times, it’s just the text as it looks here.

    Why is that? And how do I enable (or disable) emoticons.

    I reviewed the html text of the post and could not find a difference in how it was represented there.
