Emoticons problem with <
-
Some people use emoticons such as >"< and >///<.
But this would cause a frustrating problem — if we simply use the angle bracket "<", the following text would be removed by the wordpress program.
To avoid this problem,<should be used instead.
Unfortunately, most people don’t know that!Is it possible to fix this problem?
Thanks for help.

This is not a ‘problem’. WordPress is handling this appropriately because ‘<‘ and ‘>’ are part of HTML, and for all it knows, it may mean that the user is trying to use a ‘<script>’ or ‘<embed>’ tag which is not allowed, and for security reasons, WP gets rid of it.
You could create a note in a text widget letting your readers know that instead of using ‘<‘ or ‘>’ they should use ‘)’ or ‘(‘ instead.

You are free to send in a feedback and suggest to staff that they expand the number of emoticons that are allowed though.

Some people use emoticons such as >”< and >///<.
If you return I’d like to know:
What emotion does >”< express?
And what emotion does >///< express? -
Just for reference, this is being discussed on one of the wordpress mail lists this afternoon and a ticket has been opened:

Actually, the meaning of >"< is a little difficult to explain and people sometimes use it to express different emotions.

Take a look at the following links:

I’ve put a warning message in my sidebar, but it seems that few of the visitors ever seen the message…haha
