How can I remove the word “home” from the home page, I tried adding what others suggested in my CSS and it did nothing, it’s still there. I am currrently using the Illustratr theme and would like a static front page I can customize, but don’t want the word “home” junking it up. Thanks

Hi!
It looks like you’ve accomplished this by giving your page “Home” the portfolio page template and then checking the option “Hide title and content on Portfolio Page Template” under Appearance -> Customize -> Theme Options. Did you still need help with customizing your site?

Hi, thanks for your reply. I switched it back because I couldn’t get “home” to go away. I’d like to try a static front page with a custom design (image) added, but don’t like the word “home” any thoughts?

This CSS code should work:
.home .entry-header { display: none; }Can you give that a try after you’ve switched the page template back to the original? Just place it under Appearance -> Header -> CSS.
