Empty Dashboard

  I’m brand new. I used to blog with Blogger, but wanted more options. This looked great. I signed up. And then, nothing. All the questions I’ve researched on the help site about appearance, getting started, etc., refer me to navigation bars, and options in my dashboard…which simply aren’t there. Undaunted, I’ve tried to post…something…anything…it just keeps telling me I have to write something first. Great. Love to. Only, there’s no HTML box for me to use, edit, etc. Is it because I’m being impatient? Will I get a full-option dashboard if I wait a day or two? Is there something I’m missing? I’ve clicked every option given. Nothing. I’m almost ready to give up.
