Empty one site as it's moved to a newer one
-
I run two blogs, one at nuimgeography.wordpress.com and the other is maynoothgeography.wordpress.com. I have imported data from the first into the latter as part of a re-launch. I didn’t realize I could just re-name the former. Anyway, now I just want to empty the former and put up a re-direct sort of ‘Moved House’ post as I have currently. Is this ok? I don’t want to have to delete post by post as there’s an awful lot there.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there. You can easily clear your site of all content by following the instructions here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/empty-site/ You’ll see you can bulk-delete content – you don’t have to go post by post.
If you prefer, staff can also do it for you, but please note that if staff clears your site it cannot be reversed.
If you want staff to delete your content for you, please confirm in a reply to this thread and add the tag “modlook” in the tags area. Then make sure you’re subscribed to the thread and be patient while waiting for a reply.
Note that staff can also move your followers to the new address for you if you want that, and if your blog has been around for a while you should also consider the Site Redirect upgrade to automatically send traffic to the old blog to the new one instead – this is especially useful in terms of existing links to your blog on other websites: without the redirect upgrade all those links will give a 404 Page Not Found error if someone clicks on them, but with the upgrade they will go to the correct posts on your new address. See: http://en.support.wordpress.com/site-redirect/
