Empty post stuck at the top in the ‘View site” mode

  I seem to have an empty post stuck at the top of my blog in the “View site” mode. I appeared after I had deleted a post (the most recent one that I’d added). It’s a small white box with the usual “comments,” “categories” (uncategorized), etc., at the bottom. I tried to use the edit function but the program tells me that I’m trying to edit a post that doesn’t exist. I went to “Manage Posts” and tried to delete it there, but when I clicked on “delete,” nothing happened.

  It doesn’t appear when I go to the blog from outside of WordPress, so maybe it doesn’t matter that much. Anyway, it’s a bit strange – I’ve never seen this happen before after adding and deleting many posts on two blogs during the past year.

  Help or suggestions appreciated (though it seems to me to be a glitch that only the support dept. can solve – I’m only posting here first because it’s a holiday). Thanks.

  P.S, Now it’s gotten even stranger. The old post has reapparead. WordPress will not let me delete it. I try to delete it at “Manage Posts,” and it turns red but stays there. I tried to delete it in the “Edit” function and it tells me “Delete error.” Again, it doesn’t seem to appear when I visit the blog from outside WordPress…

  If this is your blog http://roughinhere.wordpress.com/ I don’t see a post with that title. The one I see is Happy New Year.

  Perhaps you are looking at a cached version of your blog. Try clearing it (Ctrl+F5)

  I don’t see it. I went clear back to the beginning of your posts. Try logging out clearing your browser cache and cookies, shut down your browser then restart it and check again.

  Thanks for the suggestions, but… I cleared my browser cache and cookies through the “options” menu (as I had done a couple of times already) and I also did Cntrl+F5. I exited and closed down my browser (again), and logged back on…and it’s still there!

  Very odd… I’ll be shutting my computer off until the morning within the next hour. Maybe when I turn it back on tomorrow, all this will have disappeared.

  It’s good that no one else is seeing any of this. But I’m hoping it doesn’t make for more peculiarities the next time I post.
