Empty site and let some unknown person have it?
-
I don’t need the site anymore but I don’t want to prevent someone from using the address in the future.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Deleting a site permanently removes it and you’ll never be able to reuse its WordPress.com address. If you delete a blog you will not be able to get it back and no one else will be able to use that blog address. You must be sure you never want to use the blog again if you delete it. http://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/
Deleted blog URLs are not recycled, regardless of who registered and deleted them http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/
Alternatively you can make the blog visibility private. Settings > Reading http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/

If you wish to empty the site, make it private and use it as a test blog or backup blog and you don’t have a lot of content you can quickly remove your contents by deleting them in bulk.
bulk delete images & media http://en.support.wordpress.com/media/deleting-files/#bulk-deletion
bulk delete posts > http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/edit-posts-screen/#bulk-edit
bulk delete pages > http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/edit-pages-screen/#bulk-edit
Here’s how to permanently delete Trash >

http://en.support.wordpress.com/trash/#deleting-permanentlyIMPORTANT NOTE: Deleting blog content does not remove it from the SERPs (search engine page results). Google and Bing only clear their caches of deleted indexed content that produces a 404 (page not found) every 3 – 6 months.

If you want to have it available for another person. Empty / clear the blog using the above steps, then leave a single Post with a note that this blog might be available to another user, with a note to contact you – easiest is to have them leave a comment , set the comments to Moderate (Dashboard >> Settings >> Discussion >> E-mail me whenever – A comment is held for moderation – – remember to save changes at bottom of page) – then if someone finds the blog they can leave a comment and you will get an email and can transfer the blog to them if you want
