Empty site over theme confusion

    I have this problem too. I try differents options but I can´t see the theme active. I change themes many times but always shows the first. Now I have deleted all but it isn´t active when I select one because wordpress show me another basic picture with text.
    I don´t want delete my account or start another blog, I have it, what ´s wrong?

    Hi @mariloblancaflor, I’ve just split your request off into a new thread so as to avoid any confusion.

    If I clear the site, all content, even images and comments, will be gone. We won’t be able to get it back. Can you confirm whether you’d like us to go ahead and empty the site anyway?

    And, do you want sample content added or not so much?

    Alternatively, we can add sample content without clearing the site. Just be sure to set your theme preference first.

    Lastly, so we’re sure we’re both talking about the same site, will you send a link?

    Sorry, I know my English is not perfect, and it is possible that I haven´t explain well my case or understand your answer.

    I want a theme (really 2 or 3 that seems a newspaper because I need it like this), and I push “activate” but the theme doesn´t activate. Other themes when I push the botton “activate” later ask me “you want change the theme and conserve your content of landing? or you want replace all? (more or less)

    With the thems that I like it later there isn´t any question when I puss “activate” and therefore I don´t see the new theme selected by me.

    So what can I do?

    So, you are trying to activate certain themes, but are not able to?

    And for other themes, when you try to activate them, you receive a notice asking whether you want to keep your site content or empty it all?

    What theme are you trying to use that you are having issues activating?

    I have tried with Canard, Gazette, Ixion or Revelar

    Hi @mariloblancaflor,

    What you have done is, you selected “Switch theme, preserving my homepage content.” As a result, the new theme (Laporte) has been activated but the homepage is same as it was before.

    Once you activate the theme, it will appear like this Screenshot from Dashboard>Appearance>Themes.

    If you want to activate the theme with homepage design, Please select “Replace my homepage content with the ….. homepage.” rather than selecting “Switch theme, preserving my homepage content.”

    After selecting “Replace my homepage content with the ….. homepage.” Click on “Activate”. You will find the previous homepage contents in draft from Dashboard>Pages>All Pages>Draft.

    So now you can copy-paste your contents to current homepage.

    Please post here if you have any more query.

    Hi @mariloblancaflor,

    The themes you have tried Canard, Gazette, Ixion or Revelar doesn’t come with readymade landing page design alike the themes Russell, Zoologist etc. For these themes you will have to create your landing page after activating them.

    Please read the overview before activating these themes.
    Hope this will solve your problem.
